Oct 24, 2023 (newstodate): A well-known figure in the Baltic as well as the global aviation industries in now taking up a new position with Unilode Aviation Solutions: Janis Balkens.
   Starting from this month, Mr Balkens takes the seat as COO at Unilode -  a strong player in the market for outsourced unit load device management, repair and digital services with HQ in Switzerland.
   Mr Balkens most recently held positions through some 10 years with Dnata, last serving as Regional CEO for New & Emerging Markets since August 2018, and prior to that served years with the handling company Havas from May 2011.
   Mr Balkens started his aviation career in 1996 with nine years serving airBaltic, later moving to SAS in the UK, and instrumental in setting up and managing North Hub Services operating in various Nordic capital airports.
