Oct 16, 2023 (newstodate): The Latvian ACMI and charter operator SmartLynx Airlines is determined to fulfil its ambition to become the world's largest A321 converted freighter operator.
   In the fleet of SmartLynx and SmartLynx Malta are now 10 converted A321 aircraft, but a further three units will be delivered after conversion before the end of 2023, with another batch of four more to join in 2024.
    In October 2020, SmartLynx Malta entered the cargo ACMI market by contracting Vallair to deliver two Airbus A321-200 converted freighter aircraft on a lease contract, becoming the first operator to have A321-200F aircraft converted by both 321 Precision Conversions and Elbe Flugzeugwerke.
