Oct 20, 2023 (newstodate): The Lithuanian charter and ACMI carrier GetJet Airlines has contracted Aviatic MRO for aircraft maintenance services at Siauliai International Airport. The process of finalizing base maintenance approval has started, with the first A320 family aircraft checks planned for Q1/2024.
In the fleet of GetJet Airlines today are six Airbus A320, five Boeing 737-800 and one Airbus A321 aircraft.
The Aviatic MRO facility was opened only on August 28, 2023, as a 23,000 m2 aircraft maintenance and repair center initially planned to open already in 2022; but the process was delayed, first due to the Covid-19 pandemic, and next also by Russia's war on Ukraine.
A former Soviet air base, Siauliai Airport operates a 3,500 m CAT 1 runway - the longest in the Baltic region - and a second 3,280 m runway, and is a military/commercial airport owned jointly by Lithuania's Ministry of Defense and Siauliai Municipality.
