Jan 30, 2023 (newstodate): Bent on renewing its aircraft fleet, Uzbekistan Airways is putting redundant aircraft up for sale.
First to go are four Boeing aircraft including two Boeing 757-200 and two Boeing 767-300ER aircraft, with February 23, 2023, fixed as the deadline for filing bids.
Also up for sale are a number of Soviet-built aircraft including five Ilyushin Il-76TD, six Ilyushin Il-114, two Mil Mi-8 helicopters as well as two Il-114 flight simulators.
To assist in the coming auctions and sales, Uzbekistan has contracted the British company ACC Aviation for organizing the sales process and verify the technical status of the aircraft.
During the recent visit to France by the Uzbek president, a number of trade deals were signed, including a follow-up order for more Airbus aircraft for Uzbekistan Airways.
In the carrier's fleet are now 32 aircraft including 13 Airbus A320 Family aircraft, two Boeing 757-200, seven Boeing 767-300, four Boeing 787-8 and two Boeing 767-300BCF cargo aircraft.
In November 2022, Uzbekistan Airways also signed a follow-up order for eight A320neo and four A321neo aircraft.
