Recently, the US investment fund Briarwood has taken a 1.7 percent stake in the carrier, making it the airline's 8th largest shareholder.
Another US investor is Bain Capital with 17.20 percent of the stake, securing it the position as the single largest investor in Icelandair.
Overall, among Icelandair's 20 largest shareholder are four US investors, accounting for a total of 21.3 percent of the shares.
