Jan 16, 2023 (newstodate): Despite a drop in volumes in December, Sweden's Stockholm Arlanda Airport did exit the year with a positive all-year growth in flown volumes by 2.2 percent, y-o-y.
A total of 103,518 tonnes of flown cargo was handled during January-December 2022, including 62,624 tonnes of exports that were up by 9.8 percent, and 40,893 tonnes of imports that were, however, down by 7.7 percent, y-o-y.
But the growth in cargo in December '22 was negative with a drop in total volumes by 19.8 percent, y-o-y, to 8,429 tonnes comprising 3,156 tonnes of imports, down 29 percent, and 5,273 tonnes of exports, also down by 13 percent.
The airport has thus not yet seen a direct positive effect from the launch of Finnair's daily flights between Stockholm and Doha from November 1, 2022, in cooperation with Qatar Airways.
