Jan 18, 2023 (newstodate): Newcomer in the Romanian skies, AirConnect has landed a short-term wet-lease contract with Air Serbia.
   The regional carrier received its AOC only on August 9, 2022, and its only aircraft, an ATR72-600, is now serving the route connecting Bucharest and Belgrade for Air Serbia.
   Plans for adding a second ATR aircraft are imminent, and the carrier is to launch scheduled services on an own route between Bucharest and Budapest from March 2023 as the wet-lease with Air Serbia expires.
   Set up by five private Romanian investors to serve the regional market, the airline started operations in July 2022 offering charter flights.
