Jan 26, 2023 (newstodate): The Romanian cargo carrier Romcargo Airlines is again expanding its wide-body freighter fleet.
A third Boeing 747-400, owned by Sharjah-based lessor Sky One FZE, is currently undergoing maintenance in Jakarta, Indonesia, and is due for delivery to Romcargo shortly.
Established in 2021, Romcargo Airlines received its AOC in November 2021 from the Romanian Civil Aviation Authority as the first Romanian airline with a Boeing 747 in the fleet, and now operates two Boeing 747-400 Converted Freighters.
In March 2022, Romcargo Airlines was cleared for freighter operations into the USA.
Romcargo Airlines filed its application with DOT on February 16, 2022, and the permit as well as an exemption was approved on March 16, allowing Romcargo to operate both scheduled and charter flights with cargo between EU and the USA.
