Jan 12, 2023 (newstodate): Solidly on a steep growth trajectory in cargo volumes, the Swedish regional airport Jonkoping Airport reports sustained increases in 2022 as well.
A total of 3,443 tonnes of cargo was handled at the airport in January-December 2022, which is up 24 percent on the preceding year.
The airport identifies two key segments contributing to the growth in 2022: the return from January 31, 2022, of PostNord's postal flights at Jonkoping Airport, suspended since 2018, and a growth in ad-hoc freighter operations that generated 368 tonnes of cargo - up no less than 820 percent, y-o-y!
Jonkoping Airport's scheduled cargo business builds primarily on FedEx, Time:Matters and DANX connecting the airport with Brussels, Karlsruhe, Oslo, Billund and Helsinki.
