Jan 13, 2023 (newstodate): 2022 was not another record year in flown cargo volumes handled at Norway's Oslo Airport.
In January-December 2022 the airport's total volumes were thus down by 11 percent, y-o-y, to 123,651 tonnes.
With 116,691 tonnes, international flown cargo was the main segment, but also down by 10 percent, y-o-y, while international mail volumes presumably comprising smaller e-trade shipments increased by 93 percent to 902 tonnes.
Oslo Airport will see the opening of a new seafood cargo terminal slated for summer 2023.
Established by a private developer Oslo Airport City, The World Seafood Center will comprise 55,000 m2 terminal space, of which 20,000 m2 are already taken on an 18-years lease contract with an option for further expansion by GPC, Gardermoen Perishables Center owned by Schenker Norway, DHL and the Norwegian freight forwarder Air Cargo Logistics.
