Jan 09, 2023 (newstodate: At looong last, Icelandair has finally retrieved its Boeing 757-200 aircraft after almost three years in Cabo Verde.
The aircraft was returned to Iceland shortly before year-end 2022 as the last of three Boeing 757-300 aircraft owned by Icelandair and Loftleidir, but not been handed back to its Icelandic owner after the breakdown of the JV following the airline's re-nationalization.
As for the other two Boeing 757-200 aircraft earlier dedicated to Cabo Verde Airlines, one was actually in Iceland for maintenance, and the other arrested by the Cabo Verde government since June 2021 over alleged debts but back in Iceland in November 2021.
