Jan 05, 2023 (newstodate): The Icelandic LCC PLAY has announced the opening of three new routes to Denmark: Aalborg, Aarhus and Billund during summer 2023.
   First to come is the opening of flights between Aalborg and Keflavik from June 10, 2023, with two weekly rotations, followed by the opening of flights between Aarhus and Keflavik from June 12, 2023, also offering two weekly rotations, and between Billund and Keflavik from June 15, 2023, with two weekly rotations
   At Billund Airport, PLAY will be competing with Icelandair, while flights to Iceland will be a novelty at Aarhus Airport.
   In all three cases, the routes will offer new direct flights to Iceland and the option of direct and fast connections to onwards flight by PLAY from Keflavik to the carrier's US destinations New York, Baltimore, Boston and Washington DC.
   In the coming summer 2023 schedule, West Denmark will thus be well served with access to the US market as SAS is also to offer direct nonstop flights from Aalborg to New York from April 2023 with three weekly rotations.
