Jan 02, 2023 (newstodate): The Icelandic cargo carrier Bluebird Nordic is growing its freighter fleet, aiming at operating up to 25 Boeing 737-800 converted freighters in 2024.
And the process is taking the fast lane, with the aircraft owned by AviaAM Leasing, a global aviation holding company member of the Avia Solutions Group also comprising Bluebird Nordic.
AviaAM Solutions Group has now acquired two more Boeing 737-800 aircraft for P2F conversions as the fifth and sixth Boeing 737-800 inducted to cargo conversion, with the previous three already delivered to the lessee and the fourth to be delivered in late January 2023.
The first Boeing 737-800 converted freighter was delivered to Bluebird Nordic in October 2021 after undergoing cargo conversion at Taikoo Aircraft Engineering Company, followed by a C-check performed by FL Technics and repainting by MAAS Aviation, both at Lithuania's Kaunas Airport; the second aircraft followed in February 2022; the third followed in August 2022, and the fourth aircraft joined the roster in October 2022.
The latest two new aircraft are slated for delivery after conversion at Taikoo Aircraft Engineering Company by Q2, 2023.
