Jan 09, 2023 (newstodate): The name Tero Taskila will probably still be connected with Estonian Air and airBaltic and several other brands.
Now, Mr Taskila, a Finnish national, is building a new airline company, BEOND, serving as CEO and member of the tripartite group of co-founders behind the venture, together with Max Nilov and Sascha Feuerherd.
To be based at Male Airport, in the Maldives, BEOND purports to become an all-premium class airline operating Airbus A321neo airlines to bring luxury-class leisure travelers from Europe to exotic tourist destinations within a route network including Hong Kong, Taipei and Singapore as well as Paris, Munich, Vienna, Zurich and Milan plus Riyadh and Dubai.
Ambitions are to see the launch of BEOND already in summer 2023; the staff currently comprises 50 people, while plans are to employ more than 200 people in 2023 for the head office plus another 800 for flight operations.
So far, no details have been published on the sourcing of aircraft for the airline venture, as well as issues including AOC and licensing.
