Jan 04, 2023 (newstodate): Finnair is turning any stone in its efforts to cut down on costs and tailor the airline to the new normal brought about by the closure of the Russian airspace, hurting its Asian traffic.
As part of its plan to discuss the possible outsourcing of in-flight services on operations between Europe, North America and Asia, Finnair has opened negotiations with representatives of the company’s cabin crew, and if agreed upon the measures may be implemented by the end of 2023.
The airline currently employs around 1,750 cabin crew in Finland, and if implemented up to 450 jobs might be made redundant.
Alongside these discussions, Finnair has renewed its cooperation with Airpro for outsourcing of Cabin Crew services during the coming summer 2023.
Under the outsourcing contract, Airpro is now recruiting more than 100 cabin crew members to produce Cabin Crew Services on Finnair flights.
In practice, the shifts for Airpro's Cabin Crew team could be planned to any route operated by Finnair, and training of the successful applicants will start already by February 2023.
Earlier, Airpro has delivered Cabin Crew services to Finnair's long-haul flights from Arlanda to the USA and Thailand for the winter season 2021-2022.
