Jan 06, 2023 (newstodate): In the coming summer 2023 program, SAS will be an important customer for the Danish charter and ACMI carrier Jettime.
Jettime has thus landed a seven-month ACMI contract with SAS to provide capacity for SAS with four to six legs per day on three Boeing 737-800 aircraft, as well as one aircraft from the Finnish base for flights on five weekdays.
Bolstering the fleet with two more Boeing 737-800 aircraft leased from Pembroke and to be delivered over the coming two-three months, the carrier will be operating a total of 11 aircraft for the summer season, including one Boeing 737-700 aircraft primarily serving as back-up capacity.
In preparation for a new busy season, Jettime is currently adding 28 new pilots as well as some 60 new cabin crew members for the bases at Copenhagen and Billund, already employing 170 cabin crew members in Denmark and Finland on a full-year basis.
From the start of the summer schedule, Jettime will also be serving ACMI customer Air Greenland with flights from Copenhagen to Narsarsuak as well as between Billund and Kangerlussuaq/Sdr Stromfjord.
In total, four of Jettime's aircraft will thus be dedicated to ACMI operations, while another six aircraft primarily based at Copenhagen Billund and Helsinki will be serving the charter market, with main customers including TUI, Bravo Tours and Club La Santa.
