Sep 20, 2022 (newstodate): A perfect match: Icelandair and Air Greenland are entering a new interline agreement to expand cooperation between the two companies.
The new agreement will connect Air Greenland’s extensive route network in Greenland and Icelandair’s international route network to Europe and North America.
As part of the new deal, Icelandair has moved part of its flights to Greenland from Reykjavik Airport to Keflavik, facilitating easier transfer of passengers between Greenland and the airline's transatlantic traffic, while passengers from Greenland will have easier access to flights on Icelandair's international network.
Today, Icelandair operates flights from Reykjavik to Narsarsuaq, Kangerlussuaq and Kulusuk, while flights are operated by Icelandair from Keflavik to Ilulissat and by both Icelandair and Air Greenland to Nuuk from Keflavik.
Until 2021, the flights to Greenland from either Reykjavik City Airport or Keflavik Airport were operated by the Icelandair subsidiary Air Iceland Connect that was, however, merged with the mother company from March 16, 2021.
