Sep 13, 2022 (newstodate): At today's press conference in Copenhagen Airport, Ryanair fell short of announcing the reopening of its CPH base as rumoured.
Instead, Ryanair presented its biggest-ever winter 2022/23 Schedule in Denmark, with more than 400 weekly flights across 53 routes, including six new winter routes to major European cities such as Birmingham, Madrid, Porto, Turin, Vienna, and Venice.
Besides, Ryanair is also allocating two Boeing 737-800 aircraft to its base at Denmark's #2 int'l airport at Billund.
Ryanair made its first entry at Billund Airport on January 24, 2007, and in March 2012, Ryanair established its 48th base at the airport serving western Denmark.
But due to union protest and labor actions against Ryanair's opening of its second Danish base at Copenhagen Airport from March 2015, Ryanair closed down both bases in Denmark by July 2015 - while the carrier announced it intentions of restoring its base at Billund already by late 2021.
