Sep 26, 2022 (newstodate): The Russian "partial mobilization" order has provided a boost in air traffic to lift potential Russian recruits out of the country, as long as borders are still open.
One carrier thriving from the frenzy is the new Armenian airline Fly Arna that is now offering 14 weekly rotations between Yerevan and Moscow Domodedovo Airport, in addition to three weekly flights between Yerevan and Sochi.
Managed by Antony Price as CEO, Fly Arna was established by a JV announced in July 2021 between the Armenian National Interests Fund and the Sharjah-based Air Arabia Group, with one Airbus A320 aircraft in the fleet.
Happily for Fly Arna, the carrier took delivery of its second Airbus A320 only on September 22, 2022 - right in time for benefiting from the lucrative market to carry Russian passengers on presumably one-way tickets...
