Sep 06, 2022 (newstodate): The Latvian ACMI and charter operator SmartLynx Airlines is now in the market for a new VP Technical.
Serving in the position since 2020 is Robert Woods, who is to leave the company by September 30, 2022.
-Robert Woods played an important role in the development and growth of the SmartLynx fleet and in the introduction of a new internal line maintenance center, SmartLynx Technik.
-He also reorganized the work of the Maintenance Controls Center, and created an additional MCC unit in Malta, says Zygimantas Surintas, SmartLynx Airlines CEO in a comment to the news.
As an interim solution, the company's current Head of Camo, Lilija Boltovska, will take over the role of VP Technical till a successor to Mr Woods has been appointed.
So far a staunch Airbus aircraft operator, the Latvian ACMI and charter operator SmartLynx Airlines is now building a fleet of Boeing 737 MAX 8 aircraft as well.
