Sep 16, 2022 (newstodate): The Danish charter airline Jettime is investing in the Danish startup company FuelVision to probe potentials for optimizing fuel consumption through data-driven digital solutions.
Jetime's pilots will be offered access to FuelVision's app that will propose the optimal flight pattern on a given route, considering actual aircraft type and real-time weather conditions.
After the flight, pilots can next compare the actual performance measured in fuel consumption and emissions to average values based on accumulation of big-data.
When the app has been implemented and proved its worth for Jettime through 2023, FuelVision will be offered to the world's airlines as a viable and well documented solution for reducing CO2 emissions.
-An interesting perspective both environmentally and financially, says Lars Thuesen, Jettime Non Executive Board Member and owner of the airline.
FuelVision was conceived in 2019 and founded in 2020 by two pilots Soren Wistisen and Elena Escriva de Romani flying for Great Dane Airlines in Vietnam, where the app in the form of a minimal viable product proved potentials for saving up to 14 percent in fuel consumption.
