Sep 28, 2022 (newstodate): Lithuania's aircraft maintenance company FL Technics is again expanding its global reach.
As the latest development, FL Technics has established a new aircraft maintenance base at Abu Dhabi to provide Wizz Air Abu Dhabi with continuous airworthiness management for Wizz Air Abu Dhabi's Airbus A320 NEO and CEO family aircraft in accordance with the requirements of GCAA ensuring a proper control in AMOS system.
The new location is the second FL Technics line maintenance station in the region, in addition to the station in Dubai International Airport opened in March 2019.
As a 50/50 JV between Wizz Air and Abu Dhabi Developmental Holding Company, Wizz Air Abu Dhabi will initially start services with a fleet of three Airbus A321neo aircraft, increasing to 50 over the coming ten years.
The focus of the business plan is to set up traffic between Abu Dhabi and destinations in Russia, Africa, India and Eastern Europe, including the Balkan markets of Macedonia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Serbia, Croatia and Montenegro.
FL Technics and Wizz Air signed their first contract for aircraft maintenance in 2011.
