Sep 29, 2022 (newstodate): The future for Estonia's aviation company Nordica lies in privatization.
Today fully owned by the state, the airline Nordica and its subsidiary Xfly as well as the aircraft leasing company Transpordi Varahaldus that provides the aircraft for the two other companies will be merged into one company that will next be prepared for privatization to run business fully independently according to market conditions.
The merger process is expected to be completed early in 2023 while still depending on the outcome of the elections in March '23 that will result in a new government to take the final decision.
Currently operating a fleet comprising seven ATR72-600 and nine CRJ900, Nordica is soon to take in its first Airbus A320 aircraft with expected delivery by mid-October '22, allowing the group to offer CPA/ACMI solutions in the full range from 70 to 180 seats to major airlines, tour operators, and the charter market.
