Sep 22, 2022 (newstodate): As part of SAS' Chapter 11 case, the United States Bankruptcy Court has now cleared the carrier to divest of several aircraft and engines lease obligations.
In the latest ruling as of today, the Court has allowed SAS to waiver the lease of one of its six Airbus A350-900, one of seven Boeing 737-700 as well as four engines for the Airbus A340-300 leased from various lessors.
In a separate ruling, the Court has also agreed that SAS can enter a sale-lease back transaction with aircraft lessor Griffin Global Asset Management DAC concerning six of its 36 Airbus A320neo aircraft.
In the fleet of SAS are currently 111 aircraft.
