Aug 29, 2022 (newstodate): The Ukrainian carrier SkyUp Airlines has set up a new line maintenance base at Antalya, Turkey.
With an initial staff of 41, Sky-Stream aircraft maintenance line station will provide line maintenance on the carrier's own fleet of 15 Boeing 700/800/900 aircraft.
-The ability for our technical specialists to continue working in wartime conditions is a necessary requirement for maintaining the necessary experience and validity of their aircraft maintenance licenses. In addition, it is a chance for us to preserve the professional potential of the country for the revival of the Ukrainian aviation industry after our victory, says Dmytro Seroukhov, SkyUp Airlines General Director.
Sky-Stream maintenance organization was registered in March 2021, originally planned to serve the airline's operations in Ukraine.
The approval certificate was received on February 16, 2022, and at the time of the Russian invasion, a maintenance station at Kiev Boryspil Airport was equipped and prepared.
However, the full-scale war forced to look for opportunities to work abroad.
Currently, the station in Antalya maintains three SkyUp aircraft; by the end of August, one more aircraft will be added, and in the autumn, two more airplanes.
The station at Antalya will work until October, while SkyUp plans to open several more line maintenance stations in other countries during the coming winter season.
