Aug 16, 2022 (newstodate): Turkish Airlines is increasing its flights program serving Lithuania in the coming winter schedule starting October 2022.
The carrier is adding five weekly rotations to its existing program of nine flights, bringing the total service to 14 weekly flights between Istanbul and Vilnius Airport.
Turkish Airlines entered Tallinn, in Estonia, and Vilnius, in Lithuania, with flights on a triangular routing from Istanbul Ataturk Airport to Tallinn, continuing to Vilnius and returning to Istanbul, rather than direct nonstop routes to these two destinations.
The route was launched on June 11, 2013, with three weekly rotations using Airbus A319 aircraft.
Later, Turkish Airlines split the triangular route from October 26, 2014, offering instead two weekly rotations between Istanbul and Vilnius as well as three weekly flights to Tallinn.
Representing Turkish Cargo in Lithuania is Kales Airline Services at Vilnius Airport.
