Aug 12, 2022 (newstodate): In 2022, Estonia's Tallinn Airport is outperforming Latvia's Riga Airport in cargo growth, y-o-y.
In January-July 2022, the airport has handled a total of 6,525 tonnes of cargo, which is an increase by 19 percent, y-o-y.
In the period, the airport has seen cargo up by 19 percent, y-o-y, to 5,826 tonnes and mail volumes rising 16 percent to 699 tonnes.
In Jan-Jul '22, Tallinn Airport is thus now 22 percent over its 2019-volumes.
Riga Airport, in Latvia, is however still the Baltic region's largest cargo airport with total volumes at 12,507 tonnes in Jan-Jul 2022 - but down by 13 percent, y-o-y, and trailing 19.5 percent after 2019-figures for the period.
