Aug 04, 2022 (newstodate): The disruption of the global supply chains is making itself felt in the aviation industry as well.
As one example, airBaltic has revealed that no less than six of its 36 Airbus A220-300 aircraft have been grounded for a lengthy period due to lack of spares supplies.
Also Air Greenland feels the plights, with three out of its seven DHC-8 aircraft grounded for the same reason.
In both cases, the shortage of available aircraft capacity has a direct impact on operations; in airBaltic's case, the airline has been forced to lease aircraft from external suppliers, including a Boeing 737-900 from the Ukrainian carrier SkyUp Airlines.
