Aug 04, 2022 (newstodate): Georgia has seen the launch of a new cargo airline, Camex Airlines.
Bolstered by investments from the US-led Gazelle Finance, the carrier based at Tbilisi Airport has now taken delivery of one Boeing 737-800 converted freighter and plans to launch commercial services by mid-August 2022.
Camex Airlines applied for its AOC with the Georgian regulator in December 2021 and has now been granted its status as a licensed commercial carrier.
Managed by George Seturidze as CEO, Camex Airlines aims at growing the fleet of converted Boeing 737-800 aircraft to four units already before the end of this year.
Planning for a network spanning intercontinental cargo flight services, the new airline is supported with consultancy from Lufthansa on finances and a business plan.
