Aug 12, 2022 (newstodate): Japan Airlines is increasing its intercontinental operations in Europe, Oceania and North America, restoring most of its pre-Covid frequencies.
Among the European destinations to benefit from this is Finland's Helsinki Airport that will see Japan Airlines increasing its frequency of flights from Tokyo Haneda Airport from today's four to five weekly rotations using Boeing 787-9 aircraft in October 2022.
Since January 1, 2022, Japan Airlines Cargo is handled by ASR Cargo Center at Helsinki Airport under a new long-term contract, replacing Swissport Finland that had been serving the carrier since May 2014 as Swissport took over Servisair, while Aviator Airport Services providing passenger and ground handling services.
Japan Airlines has been operating flights to Helsinki since February 25, 2013, with daily rotations in a code-share agreement with Finnair.
The two oneworld partner airlines have been code-sharing between Helsinki and Tokyo since June 3, 2008, after initially code-sharing their flights beyond Finland and Japan, respectively, since 2005.
