Aug 24, 2022 (newstodate): The Icelandic carrier Play Airlines took the market by surprise by announcing another US-bound flight from Iceland in 2023.
With the launch on April 23, 2023, Play will operate flights with Airbus A321neo and A320neo on the new route from Keflavik to Washington Dulles International Airport, planning for one daily rotation.
With the launch of this service, Play Airlines will become Washington Dulles International Airport’s 36th airline and its only low-cost carrier offering connections to Europe
In the U.S., the airline currently serves Baltimore/Washington International Airport, Logan International Airport in Boston, and Stewart International Airport outside of New York City.
In the fleet of Play Airlines are now three Airbus A320neo and three A321neo, with order placed for another three Airbus A320neo and one Airbus A321neo.
