Aug 26, 2022 (newstodate): The Danish charter and ACMI carrier Jettime is emerging after the Covid-19 downturn in good shape and with all seats taken.
Jettime is the successor of Jet Time that filed for bankruptcy on July 21, 2020, and took to the skies from the corona-plagued winter 2020, registered by the investment company JT3H owned Lars Thuesen, with Jorgen Holme as CEO.
From the start, Jettime employed only 30 employees, growing to some 70 one year ago. The roster now comprises 340 office, cockpit and cabin staff members - almost equal to the number employed by its defunct predecessor.
-We are actually amid a major recruitment drive for both cockpit and cabin crews. Today all 100 pilots are in fact earlier Jet Time staff, but we are now to add some 30 fresh First Officers and Direct-entry captains to man the fleet in summer 2023, says Birthe Madsen, Jettime VP Management Support.
-While pilots are readily available in the market as demonstrated by the response from over 300 applicants for the 30 jobs, finding suitable candidates for cabin staff positions is quite a challenge; many laid-off cabin staff members were forced to find new jobs in the service sector and are not easily lured back to the airline industry today.
-Anyhow, we are currently completing training of a group of 18 new cabin crew, with a new group to start training from September 9, all boding well for meeting our target in time, says Mrs Madsen.
