Aug 01, 2022 (newstodate): Billund Airport did see its cargo growth trajectory dipping somewhat in July '22 - but January-July volumes were still up by 6.8 percent.
   A total of 46,303 tonnes of cargo was handled at the airport, including 34,958 tonnes of exports, up 7.2 percent and 11,345 tonnes of imports, also up by 5.6 percent.
   July '22 did not, however, itself contribute to the growth with a dip by 7.4 percent, y-o-y, to 5,977 tonnes, seeing both exports and imports down by 5.2 and 14.7 percent, respectively.
   Billund Airport is now looking forward to the launch from August 3, 2022, of a new thrice-weekly freighter service by Virgin Atlantic Cargo from its main base at London Heathrow Airport, with transfer of cargo shipments to and from destinations in the USA, South Africa and a range of other options.
