Jul 27, 2022 (newstodate): The Ukrainian LLC SkyUp Airlines has started the process of setting up a new subsidiary in the EU.
Plans are to establish SkyUp MT at Malta to obtain rights for unlimited flight services within the EU region under an EU certificate.
SkyUp is now registering one Boeing 737 aircraft in Malta as part of the AOC application process.
For a start, the coming new Maltese SkyUp MT will operate charter flights for tour operator JoinUp, the owners of which are also key stakeholders in SkyUp Airlines.
Also in the business plan are wet-lease operations for airline customers, as well as scheduled services within the EU on the longer term.
In the fleet of SkyUp Airlines are now two Boeing 737-700, four Boeing 737-900ER, and nine Boeing 737-800 aircraft, with orders placed for five Boeing 737 MAX and one more Boeing 737-900 aircraft.
