Jul 01, 2022 (newstodate): The Russian carrier S7 Sibir Airlines has applied with the Ministry of Transportation for return of two western aircraft to the lessor, Air Lease Corp.
   The aircraft are two Boeing 737 MAX 8 aircraft delivered in October 2018 to S7 Airlines that became the Russian launch customer of the aircraft type.
   The application to the ministry for handing back the aircraft is the lack of Russian type certificate for the Boeing 737 MAX that makes it  impossible for the airline to operate the aircraft.
