Jul 29, 2022 (newstodate): Based at Kaunas Airport, Heston MRO Europe is expanding its portfolio of services to the airline industry.
The facility was established in autumn 2021, starting out with Components Support and Asset Management services to airlines and asset owners, planning to operate local European warehouses and have AOG support and logistics teams located next to its European customers and suppliers.
The portfolio has since been expanded to comprise also PBH components contract and logistics; Purchasing outside PBH rotable components; Purchasing consumables and expendables; Purchasing from OEM’s; Components repair management; Provision of tooling; Exchange management and logistics services.
As a result of this development, Heston MRO has now landed Heston Airlines as a customer under a contract taking effect from July 1, 2022.
Set up in 2020 and landing its AOC on May 21, 2021, Heston Airlines based at Vilnius Airport currently operates a fleet comprising five Airbus A320 and three Airbus A330 aircraft, offering services in the global ACMI and charters markets.
So far, the carrier has been performing a number of charter flights to destinations in Asia, China and between Europe and North America - but is still required to apply for approval of flight plans which is a challenge consuming time in critical situations.
Heston Airlines is therefore eagerly awaiting the completion of the ongoing process for obtaining IOSA certification, expected later in 2022, probably in October.
