Jul 25, 2022 (newstodate): While Finnair's core traffic on the Asian lanes remains threatened by lockdowns and closure of Russian airspace, flights from Helsinki to India are soon to be increased.
Starting from August 6, 2022, the carrier will return services on the route connecting Helsinki and Mumbai with three weekly rotations using Airbus A330-300 aircraft.
Also marking the growing importance of the Indian market, and after a 10-year lapse, Finnair has again appointed a General Manager India - Jaakko Sakari Romu, who took up the position from June 1, 2022, leaving a similar position for Finnair in Greater China where he served for half a year.
Mr Romu earlier served with Finnair for almost 15 years from January 2000, last in the position as Director Sales for five years.
Finnair launched services from Helsinki to Delhi on November 1, 2006, and to Mumbai on June 26, 2007.
