Jun 03, 2022 (newstodate): Poised to become the world’s largest airport services company by number of countries served and second-largest by number of airports, ground handling companies, Menzies Aviation and National Aviation Services will soon be under one roof.
John Menzies PLC shareholders have approved the proposed deal that would combine Menzies Aviation and National Aviation Services under the ownership of Agility, and expectations are that the deal will be finalized by Q3, 2022, pending the completion of the regulatory approval process.
National Aviation Services, owned by Kuwait's infrastructure and logistics company Agility, has a stronghold in the ground handling business operating in 55 airports and managing more than 50 airport lounges across the Middle East, Africa and South Asia.
The combined Menzies/NAS group will have approximately 35,000 employees with a presence at 250 airports in 57 countries, handling more than 600,000 aircraft turns annually.
