Jun 08, 2022 (newstodate): As part of the exit from Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection after its reorganization has been approved, Nordic Aviation Capital's fleet is shrinking.
Serving over 60 customers globally, NAC’s fleet of 390 owned and on-order aircraft now includes ATR 42, ATR 72, De Havilland Dash 8, Airbus A220 and Embraer E-Jet family aircraft.
By the end of 2021 and prior to the Chapter 11 process, NAC owned and managed a fleet of 480 aircraft with commitments for another 71 aircraft, taking the fleet to 561.
NAC's fleet is thus downsized by 90 aircraft, still securing however a position as a leading regional aircraft lessor.
The fate of 37 aircraft has now been accounted for, as the US company Azorra has announced the recent acquisition of a 37 aircraft portfolio formerly owned by Nordic Aviation Capital.
The portfolio comprises 29 Embraer E-Jets and eight ATR and Q400 turboprop aircaft leased to 13 different airlines worldwide, and financed by a lender group led by BNP Paribas.
