Jun 29, 2022 (newstodate): The Bulgarian cargo carrier Compass Cargo Airline has expanded its freighter fleet.
Last week, the company took delivery of its third Boeing 737-800SF freighter, due to enter commercial service shortly.
Built in 2002 and last serving with the Turkish carrier SunExpress, the aircraft completed conversion to freighter version in Miami in March 2022 by Macquarie AirFinance and was then put on a lease contract with the Bulgarian operator.
A JV between the US company Mesa Air Group holding 49 percent of the stake in the carrier, and the UK company Gramercy Associates Ltd, Compass Cargo Airlines took delivery of its first aircraft, a Boeing 737-800SF, on August 9, 2021, leased from GA Telesis and registered to the Mesa Air Group in January 2021 as part of their contract to operate the aircraft for DHL.
