Jun 24, 2022 (newstodate): Air China is benefiting greatly from the ban on Russia by EU and other western countries.
As the Russian airspace and flights on the country's Sibir air lanes have thus been closed to most western airlines, Russia's friendly neighbor China remains free to exploit the market for air cargo between Europe and China.
Under these circumstances, Air China is operating two daily flights with Airbus A330-300 aircraft between Beijing and Copenhagen, using passenger aircraft without passengers - but filled up with air cargo shipments.
Similarly, Air China is also operating four and up to five daily flights with passenger aircraft between Beijing and London LHR, solely to provide uplift of cargo between the UK and Chinese market in addition to the belly loads on other Chinese airlines operating between the two countries.
