Jun 23, 2022 (newstodate): Iceland will again be reconnected to Israel with the opening of flights by the Israeli carrier Israir.
Israel's second-largest carrier Israir will launch seasonal services between Tel Aviv and Keflavik from July 5, 2022, with two weekly rotations using Boeing 737-800 aircraft till August 31, 2022.
The first direct flights between the two markets were offered by the Icelandic LCC WOW Air with flights from September 12, 2017, offering four weekly rotations on the route between Keflavik and Tel Aviv using Airbus A321 aircraft - but pulling out again with the last flight on October 25, 2018.
Plying the air between Israel and Iceland with the first flight on July 14, 2021, El Al launched a series of five charter flights ending August 18, 2021, marking El Al's first flights into Keflavik Airport.
The next effort was then made by the Israeli carrier Arkia starting from July 27, 2021, with a series of five rotations ending September 31, 2021, bringing Israeli tourists from Tel Aviv to Iceland.
