Jun 20, 2022 (newstodate): Three out of four capital airports in the Nordic region reported sound growth in cargo volumes during January-May 2022.
The strongest performance was seen at Denmark's Copenhagen Airport with total cargo volumes up by 20 percent, y-o-y, to 140,080 tonnes.
Second came Finland's Helsinki Airport with 70,304 tonnes, up 6.6 percent.
Third was Norway's Oslo Airport with 50.340 tonnes - but alone in reporting negative growth by 14 percent, y-o-y.
Finally, Sweden's Stockholm Airport handled 42,000 tonnes, which was up 15.7 percent, y-o-y.
The comparison is, however, distorted by the fact that only Copenhagen Airport includes both flown and trucked cargo, while the other three airports' statistics comprise only flown cargo.
Deducting trucked cargo from the over-all figure, Copenhagen Airport still holds the leading position in the Nordic region with 81,192 tonnes flown cargo handled in Jan-May '22 - but now reporting only 7.9 percent in growth.
