Jun 21, 2022 (newstodate): The new Norwegian long-haul carrier Norse Atlantic Airways has found air cargo to be an important part of the business.
The carrier is now in the air on routes from Oslo to New York from June 14, 2022, with two weekly rotations, going up to three from the second week, followed by the opening of flights from Oslo to Fort Lauderdale from June 18, with two weekly rotations; flights to Orlando will start from July 5, 2022, with three rotations - and finally flights to Los Angeles will follow from August 9, with three weekly rotations.
Already on the opening flight to New York, Norse carried some 20 tonnes of Norwegian cargo on a fully booked departure.
Speaking to the Norwegian media dn.no, the airline's CEO confirmed that considerations of cargo had driven the airline to change plans for airports serving New York and Los Angeles from outlying Stewart and Ontario, respectively, to operating instead into New York JFK and Los Angeles International Airport, offering a better cargo infrastructure.
