Jun 14, 2022 (newstodate): Armenia's new national carrier Fly Arna has announced its launch of services on the first three routes.
The airline’s first route will depart from Yerevan Zvartnots International on July 3 to Hurghada International in Egypt with two weekly rotations
Flights on a second route will commence from July 4 from Yerevan to Sharm El Sheikh with three weekly rotations, and a third route will follow on July 5 between Yerevan and Beirut, subject to government approval, with three weekly rotations.
In the fleet will be two Airbus A320neo on a lease contract with its joint venture partner Air Arabia.
Heading Fly Arna is Antony Price as CEO, bringing in over 20 years of aviation and tourism experience and with senior leadership positions with British Airways, Air New Zealand, FlyBMI, and most recently as Head of Flight Supply Strategy for Agoda, part of the Booking.com family of OTA brands.
In November 2021, EU and Armenia signed a Common Aviation Area Agreement, clearing the skies for the new carrier to operate flights on routes connecting Armenia and EU member states.
