Jun 14, 2022 (newstodate): In its latest revision of flight schedules, Air Serbia has ruled out a return to the Finnish market.
Air Serbia launched flights from Serbia to Finland in June 2019 with two weekly rotations using a mix of a leased-in CRJ900 from Nordica and own Airbus A319 aircraft on the route, and the route was to be operated year-round if warranted by a satisfactory market response.
This turned out not to be the case, however, as the coronavirus put an end to the flights to Helsinki.
Instead, Air Serbia will connect Serbia and Finland through its code share partners Finnair and airBaltic.
In Scandinavia, Air Serbia is operating four weekly rotations on the route between Belgrade and Copenhagen from April 14, 2022, and flights between Belgrade and Stockholm increased to four weekly rotations from April 15, 2022.
Flights between Belgrade and Oslo will vary on a weekly basis between three and four weekly rotations in summer 2022.
In May 2021, Aviator Airport Alliance secured a renewal of the handling contract with Air Serbia in Scandinavia.
For the third consecutive time since the first contract signed in 2015, Aviator is providing Air Serbia with a full package of handling services from check-in, baggage handling to pushback of aircraft at Copenhagen, Stockholm and Oslo.
Serving Copenhagen and Stockholm for years with scheduled flights from Belgrade, Air Serbia added the route to Oslo from Belgrade from June 2020.
