May 30, 2022 (newstodate): Sweden's TAM, Taby Air Maintenance, has again confirmed its position as the world’s leading conversion specialist for Saab 340 and soon also Saab 2000 aircraft.
Late in May 2022, the company has thus completed its 30th Saab 340 cargo conversion on a Saab 340B, now in the fleet of the Latvian passenger and cargo carrier RAF-Avia that is operating two converted SAAB 340 freighters and one SAAB 340 in QC-configuration allowing it to swap between passenger and cargo operations.
Only in February 2022, TAM completed its 25th Saab 340 cargo conversion on a Saab 340B for Jetstream Aviation Capital, and the company's backlog now stretches well into 2023.
TAM was the first company worldwide to be approved by the US Federal Aviation Administration, FAA, as well as the European Aviation Safety Authority, EASA, to perform a full cargo conversion of Saab 340A and Saab 340B - a process requiring about six weeks of work at the plant close to Orebro Airport.
This year, TAM will be opening a new chapter by finishing the first-ever conversion of the Saab 2000 aircraft, also to be delivered to Jetstream Aviation Capital.
