May 24, 2022 (newstodate): Carpatair, a privately-owned Romanian-Swiss regional airline based in Timisoara, will be plying the skies in summer 2022 for the Latvian carrier airBaltic.
airBaltic has wet-leased two aircraft from Carpatair - one Fokker 100 and one Airbus A319 for operating certain frequencies on selected routes during the period May 25-August 31, 2022.
The Fokker 100 aircraft will be operating up to 22 weekly flights from Riga to Oslo, Bergen, Trondheim and Stavanger in Norway, Copenhagen and Billund in Denmark, Helsinki in Finland, as well as Tallinn in Estonia.
The Airbus A319 will be operating up to 15 weekly flights from Riga to 10 European destinations, including Copenhagen and Oslo.
Also in summer 2022, airBaltic has allocated so far 11 of its 35 Airbus A220-300 aircraft to the wet-lease market, with airline customers including Eurowings and SAS.
