May 12, 2022 (newstodate): The Lithuanian charter and ACMI airline Heston Airlines is seeing the world as its playground.
So far, the carrier has been performing a number of charter flights to destinations in Asia, China and between Europe and North America - but is still required to apply for approval of flight plans which is a challenge consuming time in critical situations.
Heston Airlines is therefore eagerly awaiting the completion of the ongoing process for obtaining IOSA certification, expected later in 2022, probably in October.
The IOSA certification is a prerequisite for seeking IATA membership, offering new potentials for cooperation with other carriers, including entering code-sharing and interline-agreements and opening new markets for Heston Airlines.
Set up in 2020 and landing its AOC on May 21, 2021, Heston Airlines plans to grow the aircraft fleet to nine aircraft in 2022, including three Airbus A330-200 aircraft, and adding another two or three aircraft in 2023, all placed on the charter and ACMI markets.
