May 25, 2022 (newstodate): Excepting now also Russia, the last CIS member state remaining on the EU Commission's list of airlines banned from flights into its airspace, Kyrgyzstan is keen to exit the "bad standing"..
Since 2007, all airlines registered in Kyrgyzstan have been on the EU Black List barring them from operating into EU markets - and while making strenuous efforts over the last several years, the country has still not achieved its goal.
In a renewed attempt, Kyrgyz Republic is now establishing a Civil Aviation Agency under the Cabinet of Ministers of the Kyrgyz Republic on the basis of the Civil Aviation Department under the Ministry of Transport and Communications of the Kyrgyz Republic.
With Alexander Ivanovich Nastaev as acting director of the coming new CAA, the organization will work towards exiting the EU Black List by implementing a host of measures to eliminate the shortcomings indicated in the reports of ICAO experts, complying with all ICAO safety-related standards, relevant procedures, using guidance material and sound flight safety practices.
A tight schedule has been defined for the FAA's coming work, aiming at seeing the EU Commission lifting its restrictions on the country's civil aviation at the earliest date.
On the latest EU Black List are 21 airlines certified in Russia as well as Armenia, Afghanistan - and Kyrgyzstan.
